RAM Raises the Bar for the 2014 Model Year

The competitive nature of the pickup truck market is truly incredible. The Big Three automakers work tirelessly to out-do one another through design and performance. Through it all, RAM Trucks seem to come out on top due to the brands innovative nature. This is shown by the fact that RAM is the only brand offering a coil-spring 2500 Heavy Duty pickup and the light-duty RAM 1500 powered by a diesel engine.

For fans of Heavy Duty vehicles, RAM surely caters to its power-hungry drivers. Both models offered in the new RAM line up are now available with the 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine, which is currently the largest engine available in a pickup. It generates an impressive 410-hp and 429 lb.-ft. of torque and is available in three different variations depending on your choice of transmission.

The RAM 1500 will be available later this year with a fuel-efficient diesel engine. The powerplant will add an additional $2,850 over the standard $24,200 RAM 1500, but offers greater torque than the HEMI variant (420 lb.-ft.). The light-duty pickup also features active aerodynamics, an eight-speed automatic transmission and a stop-start system.

There are many more features to come with the 2014 RAM model lineup so be sure to stay connected with the Spartanburg Chrysler Dodge Jeep blog for more updates. In the meantime, we encourage you to visit our dealership and test drive a new RAM if you haven't done so lately to experience American auto engineering at its best.
