2014 RAM Heavy Duty Trucks Receive New V-8

Great news is here for drivers who have a bit of a "lead foot." Those who crave power from their pickups will be happy to hear that RAM has announced its new 2014 Heavy Duty pickup lineup will feature an optional, all-new 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine. This new engine will produce an incredible 410 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque, giving it class-leading power. In addition, the RAM 2500 and 3500 also have class-leading towing power.

The 2014 models come with a range of new features, including new aluminum wheels for the RAM 2500 model, a cargo-view camera to check bed loads and an optional flat-load floor for the 2500 Crew Cab model. RAM Heavy Duty trucks come in an available 12 colors, including two that are new for 2014: Granite Crystal and Blue Streak.

Production for the new vehicles is set to begin this fall at the brand's assembly plant in Coahuila, Mexico. Pricing has been announced, and it will start at $29,600 (not including a $1,095 destination fee).  The optional 6.4-liter HEMI-engined model comes at a price of $1,495 than a similarly-equipped model featuring the 5.7-liter HEMI engine.
