When the Grand Cherokee was originally released for sale by Jeep in 1993, it was offered as a more luxurious version of the popular Cherokee SUV. This is a midsize crossover SUV that has a reputation of providing drivers with refined luxuries without disappointing serious Jeep buyers who are looking for a rugged, dependable vehicle. Both the 2018 and the 2019 models are included in the fourth generation of the Grand Cherokee. This means that you can expect to find only a few noticeable differences between these two model years at best. With a closer look at what the Jeep Grand Cherokee offers, you can better decide if it is right for you and which model year you should purchase.

The Cherokee has two rows of seating for up to five adult passengers to feel comfortable in a spacious cabin. It also has undeniable power wrapped in a sporty yet sophisticated exterior. Both the 2018 and the 2019 model years are equipped with a 3.6-liter, V6 engine that offers 295 horsepower using regular unleaded fuel as the base engine. This is a powerful, capable engine that is paired with rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission with both overdrive and auto-manual features. There are other engine options and mechanical features available for both model years. For example, powertrain options include a 5.7-liter, V8 engine with 360 horsepower and a 6.4-liter, V8 with 475 horsepower. Keep in mind that these vehicles are also outfitted with an exceptional range of standard safety features, including many high-tech and innovative features that can give you a feeling of security and confidence on the road.

While the exterior of the 2019 Cherokee has not been significantly overhauled in comparison to the 2018 model year, you will find that it has a noticeable facelift. For example, the 2019 model has a new front fascia that is paired with an extended grille and redesigned LED daytime running headlights. The rear headlights have also been redesigned. The exterior colors from 2018 mostly carry forward to the 2019 model year. Inside the Grand Cherokee, most of the interior design elements appear to be the same. This includes the availability of the same interior color options as well as soft yet supportive seating and a well-designed dashboard.

You understandably want to know more about the many features that are available in the 2018 and 2019 Cherokee models. Some of the standard features that are now available in all trim levels for 2019 include an eight-inch touchscreen display along with a large seven-inch instrumentation display cluster. A navigation system, Uconnect technology, Bluetooth connectivity, an upgraded sound system and other features are also now standard. Some of the many carryover features between the 2018 and 2019 model years are dusk-sensing headlights, cruise control, power windows and locks, emergency braking, keyless ignition, rear parking sensors, heated and powered side mirrors, airbags, child safety features and more.
