Diesel engine lovers will enjoy the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine that boasts 240 horsepower and a massive 420 lb-ft of torque while providing a fuel efficient EPA estimated 20 city and 27 highway miles per gallon in 2WD models. For the most power, drivers should choose the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that boasts an impressive 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. In 2019 models, the 3.6-liter V6 VVT engine with eTorque has a maximum payload capacity of 2,100 lbs and a towing capacity of 12,750 lbs. Other performance features in the 2019 Ram 1500 include engine start/stop technology, short-term torque assist, and regenerative braking.

Exterior

The 2019 Ram 1500 features a bigger, bolder, and more aggressive look in all the right places compared to the 2018 Ram 1500. The 2019 Ram 1500 faces the future with its sculpted and aerodynamic hood, sleeker headlamps and modern grille design, as well as active grill shutter and LED headlamps. The new aluminum tailgate in 2019 models features an integrated spoiler and updated Ram badge that boasts bold geometric shapes and “RAM” lettering. Compared to competitors’ trucks, these trucks feature the RAMBOX Cargo Management System, and the bed in the 2019 model has a maximum cargo bed volume of 61.5 cubic feet, which is more than enough to hold 4x8 sheets of plywood.
